I sent my daughter AGOT doll to get her head replaced at the doll hospital since it was a bit loose and the hair was frayed. She is an African American doll with textured hair. Amber, my daughter, has had Brittney since December of 2004 and despite the hair looking choppy in places, she has loved her.
I was pleasantly surprised to receive Brittney about a week and a half later with a new head at NO CHARGE. American Girl took full responsibility for the condition and sent a very nice letter apologizing for the inconvenience.
In these days of poor customer service, I can't say enough about the great service we have experienced with American Girl. They know how to keep a good customer.
I wondered if anyone else had a great experience with them?

Welcome to the board!!! Did your DD's doll come with her hair kind of choppy-looking? I guess that could be a reason to replace the head for free. Congrats!

She did come with her hair choppy and since it was the second doll like that, we decided to keep it.

That is wonderful that they did that for you. Yes, I think that most of us here have had wonderful AG customer service experiences. Very few times do you get a less that nice one. They are very happy to stand by their products. (That's one reason I'm willing to pay a little more for their products, that and the quality)
Welcome to the board! Do you have any other dolls? Are you a collector, too? I have 2 dds who collect, but I collect, too! I have Kit, Josefina, and Susie May, my AGOT.
